Fed stress test results drop tomorrow, June 24th, 4 p.m. Eastern — every major bank's capital buffer gets graded in public, and the market moves on this.
The Federal Reserve confirmed the release date directly. Annual stress test. Results hit Wednesday. That's tomorrow. Four o'clock sharp. Here's what this actually is — the number that tells you whether banks can absorb a real shock scenario. Job losses. Market crashes. Credit blowups. The Fed runs the hypothetical, measures the damage, and publishes what's left. If what's left is thin, that's not a footnote. That's a problem.
Separately, the Fed issued enforcement actions against a former Atlantic Union Bank employee and a former Frost Bank employee. Details are still coming through. Two regional banks, two former employees, one announcement — that pattern is worth watching.
Back to the stress test, because that's the one with market teeth. Watch the Common Equity Tier 1 ratios. Watch for conditional non-objections — that's the Fed's polite way of saying not quite. Watch for any institution that scrapes the minimum, because management will not put that in the headline. They will bury it. The press release will say 'well-capitalized and resilient.' The supplemental data tables will say something else entirely. That's where this actually lives. Go there first.
Every IR team on the Street is drafting the spin right now. They've had months. The data drops at four. Read the tables, not the talking points.
The numbers are the numbers. We translate. We don't cover for anyone.
