Fed stress test results drop Wednesday, June 24th, 4 p.m. Eastern — mark it.
Two items off the Fed wire right now.
First — stress tests. Wednesday. 4 p.m. Eastern. Every major bank holding company learns whether their capital buffers survive the Fed's worst-case scenarios. That number moves dividend announcements, buyback authorizations, and capital return plans. Financials sector — this is your event.
Second — enforcement actions. The Fed just flagged a former Atlantic Union Bank employee and a former Frost Bank employee. Details are sparse. Post-departure enforcement typically means misconduct findings that followed someone out the door. Neither institution is a systemic name, but when the Board itself issues the action, it isn't noise. Atlantic Union is on Nasdaq. Cullen/Frost — Frost's parent — trades on NYSE.
Two actions. One regulator. Same wire drop.
Wednesday is the one that moves money. Financials don't get comfortable until those stress test numbers are public. Four days out — watch the sector for pre-positioning.
Numbers don't lie. People do. Trade accordingly.
