The desk is leaning long into selective strength today, with conviction on two names and a clear intraday playbook running underneath.
On the longer side, we have two positions carrying solid conviction right now. One is in large-cap technology — that setup has been working, and the desk is staying with it. No reason to fight what is resolving in your favor. The other is in healthcare, same story — long, solid conviction, holding the posture.
The intraday color is where it gets interesting. The gap-fill book is active on the open. What we are seeing is a consistent pattern of morning gaps higher fading back — the desk is leaning into that fade, not chasing the open. Gaps have been filling with enough regularity that we have made it a disciplined part of the opening session. That is not a gut call, that is a repeating shape in the data, and we trade shapes.
So the overall posture today: two directional longs with conviction running in the background, and an active intraday fade strategy working the opening gaps. Measured, not aggressive. That is how this desk operates.
That is the desk read. Position accordingly, or do not. Your call.
