The desk is running with measured conviction today — leaning into strength where it's earned, and staying opportunistic on the open.
On the directional book, we have two names carrying solid conviction right now. One is a large-cap technology setup — the kind of structure that's been building quietly and the desk is comfortable holding. The other is in healthcare, and that one is already working in our favor, which is always the cleanest confirmation you can get. Both are longs, both feel right-sized given where we are in the tape.
Intraday, the posture shifts a bit. The gap-fill book is active on the open. When the morning session gaps higher, the desk is leaning into the fade rather than chasing it. Gaps in this environment have been filling with some regularity, and the intraday book is shaped around exactly that. It keeps the desk nimble while the longer-duration positions do their work.
So the overall lean — long on two names with conviction, fading gap-ups on the intraday side. Clean, not complicated.
That is the desk read. Position accordingly, or do not. Your call.
