The desk is carrying conviction into today's session on two fronts, with a cautious hand on the intraday tape.
On the directional side, we have solid long exposure in large-cap technology — one name specifically, and the setup there is clean. The kind of structure where the desk is comfortable holding through noise. Separately, we have a healthcare name we've been leaning long on, and that one is behaving well right now. Both of those feel like they have room, and neither is a trade we're looking to flip quickly. Conviction is the word on both.
Where it gets more tactical is the opening session. The gap-fill book has been active. What we're seeing intraday is a consistent pattern of morning gaps higher that don't hold — and the desk has been fading those. Not aggressively, but consistently. The first thirty minutes have been generous to anyone not chasing. If a name opens stretched, we're not interested in that print. We want what comes after.
So the posture today is: two deliberate directional leans in technology and healthcare, and a disciplined gap-fade approach on the open.
That's the desk read. Position accordingly, or don't. Your call.
