Fed just put a date on the most important bank health check of the year — stress test results drop Wednesday, June 24th, 4 p.m. Eastern. Every major capital return plan in the sector is parked right there, waiting on that room.
The Federal Reserve confirmed it: 2026 annual bank stress test results land June 24th, 4 p.m. EDT. That's the green light — or the hard stop — for buybacks and dividend hikes across the biggest U.S. financials. JPMorgan, Goldman, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America — they're all sitting on capital return announcements they legally cannot touch until this clears. The moment that number drops, watch what moves first. That's the tell. Separately, Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis filed an 8-K with the SEC — filing ID 0001331754-26-000129. Details still coming in, but that filer doesn't move quietly, and anything regulatory out of the Federal Home Loan system right now gets our attention.
The Fed also issued enforcement actions against former employees at Atlantic Union Bank and Frost Bank. Not systemic. But the timing, one week out from stress test results, is not nothing. Regulators don't love coincidences, and neither do we.
June 24th, 4 p.m. Eastern. That's when we find out which banks passed clean and which ones got quietly squeezed by the hypothetical recession scenario. The financials trade on this result hard — anyone telling you otherwise hasn't watched a stress test cycle.
The numbers are the numbers. Management will spin what they can. We don't.
