The Fed just put two dates on the calendar that every bank trader needs to know — and one involves stress tests dropping in ten days.
Two items off the Fed wire right now.
First — enforcement actions. Former employees at Atlantic Union Bank and Frost Bank. Two separate individuals. Federal Reserve Board issued the actions May 28th. No dollar figures disclosed in the release. Watch both names for follow-on headlines.
Second — and this is the bigger one. The Fed confirmed annual bank stress test results drop Wednesday, June 24th, 4 p.m. Eastern. That's ten days out. Stress tests move bank stocks. Big banks, regionals, all of them. Results hit after close, so expect after-hours volatility June 24th and gap risk into the 25th open.
Mark June 24th, 4 p.m. Eastern. That's your line in the sand.
Atlantic Union Bank — ticker AUB. Frost Bank parent — Cullen/Frost Bankers — ticker CFR. Both worth having on your radar given the enforcement action noise.
That's the brief. Stay locked.
