The Fed just put two dates on the calendar that every bank trader needs to know about — right now.
Two moves from the Federal Reserve. Enforcement actions dropped against a former Atlantic Union Bank employee and a former Frost Bank employee. Individual-level, not institutional — watch how AUB and CFR react in after-hours. Now the bigger one — the Fed has officially scheduled its annual bank stress test results for Wednesday, June 24th, 4 p.m. Eastern. Ten days out. Stress test day is a binary event for the majors. JPMorgan, Goldman, BofA, Wells, Citi, Morgan Stanley — capital return playbooks get handed out that afternoon. Buybacks, dividends, all of it contingent on what drops at 4 p.m. on the 24th. Mark it. The enforcement actions are noise. June 24th is the signal. Bank sector volatility window is now open.
Numbers don't lie. People do. Trade accordingly.
