Semiconductors just woke up and they are not being quiet about it.
Intel up 12.14%, at 121.78. Something broke loose there. Meta up 11.34%, at 741.24. That is a big number on a blue chip. AMD up 9.95%, at 615.52 — chips are the story today, full stop.
Tesla up 3.03%, at 375.30. Nvidia up 2.30%, at 227.38. Netflix up 2.19%, at 73.36. Amazon up 1.87%, at 258.45. The megacaps are moving, just not leading.
Broadcom up 1.41% to 362.66 — notable given the semiconductor sweep today. Eli Lilly up 1.04% to 1,164.89. At that price, a one-percent handle is real money.
Exxon down 3.20%, at 158.30. Energy and commodities are getting hit while tech prints green — the rotation is clean and visible.
Futures: SPY up 1.55%, QQQ up 2.77%. That QQQ number is the headline. Tech-weighted, tech-driven, and the pre-market is confirming what the individual names already showed. VIX sitting at 14.71 — nobody is scared right now.
ETFs: QQQ up 2.77%, SPY up 1.55%, DIA up 0.76%, IWM up 0.52%. Small caps are not invited to this party yet. Watch that IWM gap if the session runs.
Asian markets unavailable overnight. No economic calendar today. Clean tape, no macro landmines scheduled.
Earnings: Cintas reports before the open, EPS estimate 1.375. H.B. Fuller after the close, estimate 1.4833. Also on the calendar: AGSS, ASTC, CLRC, and GLNS. None of those move the index, but watch Cintas — industrials reporting into a red energy tape tells you where the cracks might show.
The setup is tech surging, energy bleeding, small caps lagging, and VIX low enough that nobody is hedging. If Intel and Meta hold those gaps into the open, the bears have nowhere to go.
Numbers don't lie. People do. Trade accordingly.
