Saturday session, thin volume, and the software stack just handed back gains like it owed someone money.
Netflix down 4.67% to 71.79. Steepest drop in the room today. No earnings, no announcement — just sellers in control. Broadcom up 2.97% to 357.61. Chip demand narrative still breathing. AMD up 2.7% to 559.82, running alongside it. When semis move together on a Saturday, pay attention Monday morning.
Meta down 2.43% to 665.75. No catalyst, pure pressure. Microsoft down 0.80% to 493.78 — that's three of the software heavyweights finishing red, and Microsoft carries enough index weight that it doesn't get to be a footnote. Salesforce down 2.03% to 237.92. Oracle down 1.98% to 147.61. Software as a sector just had a rough one.
Nvidia up 1.34% to 222.27. Quiet but green. Amazon up 1% to 253.71 — holding its floor.
Bank of America down 0.77% to 57.73. Only financials signal in the feed today. Thin-volume weekend session, financials slipping — worth a flag going into next week.
On the ETF side: SPY down 0.12%, QQQ up 0.63%, IWM down 0.47%, DIA down 0.48%. Large-cap tech carrying QQQ while small caps and industrials fade. That's a narrow rally holding the index together.
VIX sitting at 14.81. Gold up 0.37%. Asian market data unavailable. No earnings, no economic data on the calendar.
The read: semis green, software red, Netflix dragging harder than anything else in the feed, and the broader market leaning on a very short list of winners to stay afloat. That's the setup heading into next week.
