Tech is getting hit and Intel is doing the most damage — down almost eight percent while everything else bleeds out quietly.
INTC down 7.89 to 92.32. That's the headline. Whatever the catalyst, nearly eight percent in a single session is a body blow. Oracle off 4.21 to 114.99 — semis aren't the only ones hurting. AMD drops 3.29 to 521.95. Broadcom sheds 2.69 to 381.92. That's four tech names all moving the same direction, and none of them small.
Tesla down 2.08 to 313.03. META off 1.80 to 595.19. Both moving in the same current as the broader tech selloff, not leading it.
Bright spots are thin. Apple up 3.53 to 333.02 — holding up while its sector drowns. Salesforce the other winner, up 4.29 to 163.66. Two longs in a sea of red.
QQQ is down 1.12 percent — that confirms what the individual names already told you. SPY holds at plus 0.10. VIX at 18.58, not panicking but not calm either. Gold up 0.91 — someone is hedging. IWM off 0.32. DIA up 0.48. Rotation out of growth, into defensives. Clean read.
BAC up 1.26 to 62.05. JPM positive on the day. Banks green while tech bleeds — that's not noise, that's the rotation making itself visible. Netflix up 1.74 to 70.09. Walmart and Costco both up under a percent. The defensive and consumer names are absorbing capital that just left semiconductors.
Asian markets unavailable tonight. No economic data scheduled. Earnings in focus after the close: ACGL at 2.48 estimate, ACHC at 0.35. Pre-market tomorrow watch AB at 0.85 and ABG at 6.37.
The macro split is tight — Dow positive, Nasdaq negative. That divergence is the story today. Tech is absorbing the pain while old economy holds.
Numbers don't lie. People do. Trade accordingly.
