Tech is getting hit from every angle this morning, and the Nasdaq is leading the damage.
Futures first. SPY down 0.77. QQQ down 1.9 — that's your tell on where the pain is concentrated. IWM down 0.85. DIA holding relatively firm at minus 0.25. VIX at 17.38, elevated but not panicking. Gold up 0.91 — money is rotating somewhere safe. Asian markets unavailable this morning.
Nothing on the economic calendar today. Clean tape. All the noise is self-generated.
Now the stocks.
Oracle down 6.47%, sitting at 131.54. That's the biggest mover on the board. Salesforce is the outlier — up 4.84% to 171.22, bucking the entire tech selloff. Intel down 6.12% at 103.12. AMD down 4.21% at 534.39. Broadcom down 3.98% at 384.05. Nvidia down 3.52% to 203.53 — semis are broadly underwater. Tesla down 3.19% at 394.76.
Two names breaking from the pack. Exxon up 4.05% to 144.51 — energy catching a bid while tech bleeds out. Microsoft up 1.53% to 390.99 — holding green inside a sector that's getting torched. That separation matters.
Semis are in a coordinated drawdown. Intel, AMD, Broadcom, Nvidia — all red, all meaningful. Salesforce standing alone in the green is worth watching. That divergence inside tech doesn't happen without a reason.
Earnings this morning: BlackRock before the open, consensus at 12.67 on EPS. BNY Mellon also reporting pre-market, consensus around 2.23. ADX, BVFL, and CCTG also on the calendar — smaller names, watch for surprises.
No macro data to trade around today. The session lives and dies on earnings reactions and whether the QQQ finds footing after that 1.9% futures drop.
Numbers don't lie. People do. Trade accordingly.
