Futures are red but your watchlist is mostly green — figure that out before the bell.
LLY up 7.13%, sitting at twelve-oh-eight. Pharma doing the heavy lifting this morning. MSFT up 5.71% at three-seventy-two. Salesforce right behind it — CRM up 5.45% at one-fifty-eight. Enterprise software is having a Monday. NFLX up 4.1% at seventy-three eighty-one. AAPL up 3.14% at two-eighty-three. UNH up 2.97% at four-twenty-seven — healthcare quiet but consistent.
Now the other side. AVGO down 3.67% at three-sixty-five. INTC down 3.42% at one-twenty-eight. Semis getting hit while everything else climbs — that's the divergence worth watching. ORCL down 2.58% at one-forty-eight. AMD down 2.06% at five-twenty-one. GOOGL down 1.84% at three-thirty-seven. The red side of the tape is almost entirely chips and infrastructure — semis aren't just soft, they're the story.
Futures are soft. SPY down 0.72%. QQQ down 1.38% — tech futures bleeding while tech stocks pump, which is a contradiction that resolves one of two ways by close. VIX at 18.3, not screaming panic but not calm either. Gold down 0.7%, no flight to safety here. IWM up 0.31% — small caps holding, which is the one green ETF in the bunch. DIA down 0.29%.
No Asian overnight data available. No economic calendar today. Nothing to front-run on the macro side.
Earnings this morning: AVK, BRW, BWMG, CASIF — CASIF carrying a negative EPS estimate at minus thirty-seven cents. EAD and ERC also on the board. None of these are moving the tape.
The read: big-cap tech stocks are surging while tech futures are sinking and semis are selling. QQQ down 1.38% pre-market against MSFT up nearly six percent is not a normal spread. AMZN up 2.5% at two-thirty-two, GOOGL down nearly two — same sector, opposite directions. Something in this picture doesn't add up, and by noon you'll know which side was wrong.
Numbers don't lie. People do. Trade accordingly.
