The desk is leaning long and selective today, with conviction sitting in two spots and a tactical fade book running on the open.
On the directional side, the desk has two names it likes right now. One is in large-cap technology — that position has been building, conviction is solid, and it's behaving the way it should. No complaints there. The other is in healthcare, same level of conviction, same posture — long and patient. Both of these are setups where the desk put in the work, sized appropriately, and is now letting the trade do what it's supposed to do.
On the intraday side, the gap-fill book is active. When the morning opens with a gap higher, the desk is not chasing it — it's fading it. Gap-fills have been clean enough to keep that discipline in place, so until that changes, the opening session has a short-leaning, mean-reversion flavor to it.
The picture today is straightforward: two longer-horizon longs with real conviction behind them, and an intraday posture that treats euphoric opens with skepticism rather than enthusiasm.
That is the desk read. Position accordingly, or do not. Your call.
