The desk is leaning long and finding conviction in it today.
Two names have the desk's attention on the long side right now. One is in large-cap technology — the setup shaped up cleanly, we leaned in with solid conviction, and so far the tape is agreeing with us. The other is in healthcare — same story, same conviction level, and it is also working. When two unrelated sectors are both confirming your directional lean at the same time, that tends to feel like the environment is cooperating rather than fighting you. We will take that.
The intraday picture is a different posture entirely. The gap-fill book is active this session. What that means practically is that when the morning opens with a gap higher, we are fading it — leaning against that initial enthusiasm and looking for the fill to come back. It has been a productive side of the book today. Gap-up opens have not been holding, and that is telling us something about how much conviction is actually sitting behind those early moves.
So the desk is running two different personalities today — patient longs on the multi-day side, and active fades on the intraday open.
That is the desk read. Position accordingly, or do not. Your call.
