The Fed just put a date on the stress test drop — and every major bank stock needs to be on your radar right now.
Wednesday, June 24. Four p.m. Eastern. That's when the Federal Reserve drops annual stress test results for the biggest names in U.S. banking. Circle it. These results set capital requirements, dividend capacity, and buyback authorization — JPMorgan, Goldman, Bank of America, Citigroup, all hanging on whatever comes out of that release. Separately, the Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka filed an 8-K with the SEC. Details are thin, but FHLB filings in this environment get scrutiny fast — watch for any language around liquidity or capital triggers. And the Fed also issued enforcement actions against former employees at Atlantic Union Bank and Frost Bank. Individual actions, not systemic — but it signals the regulatory posture heading into stress test week.
Three data points. One clear trade window. Between now and Wednesday close, bank volatility is a known unknown. Options premiums on the majors will likely reflect that. Position sizing matters. Risk management matters more.
Numbers don't lie. People do. Trade accordingly.
